Spier Creative Block 2 2021

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2022 - 84 points
Platter's Wine Guide 2022 - 4.5 stars (90)
Veritas Awards 2021 - Gold

Tropical notes of gooseberry, lime and white peach. Subtle hints of fynbos and a touch of white asparagus deliver depth. The palate is young and leads to a long and structured mineral finish. This blend of 94% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Sémillon turns heads wherever it appears. Lusciously textured tropical, fynbos and asparagus flavours are overlaid upon a canvas of mouthwatering minerality. Coveted by connoisseurs and critics alike, accolades for the 2019 vintage of this Sauvignon Blanc-dominated white blend include a double-gold medal at the Veritas wine awards 2020, four-star rating from Platter’s Wine Guide 2020 and 92 points from British Master of Wine Tim Atkin.

Food Pairing
Butter roasted free range chicken with seasoned goat’s cheese under the skin, or battered SASSI-friendly fish nuggets with anchovy mayonnaise.

94% Sauvignon Blanc / 6% Sémillon. Sauvignon Blanc is known for aromatic, sprightly white wines with aromas of gooseberries, green pepper, nettle and grass. Sémillon delivers versatile white wines with nuances of honey and creamy notes. This makes for an exciting interplay in the Spier Creative Block 2 Sauvignon Blanc Sémillon.

The Estate
One of the very first farms established in Stellenbosch in 1683, Arnoud Jansz settled on Spier Farm. Used as a working farm, Spier wine was first produced only in 1971 to great success. Multiple additions to the estate include the famed luxurious Spier Hotel, Moyo at Spier, museums, theatres, and more.
