The Estate
After falling in love with the wines of Puligny-Montrachet, former accountant Gyles Webb packed away his adding machine in Durban and moved the family to Stellenbosch. Converting a dilapidated fruit farm into vineyards, the pioneering producer quickly grnered recognition and accolades for his minimal interference winemaking philosophy and his pure and unmanipulated benchmark bottlings. In 2002, Webb expanded his operation to the cool climate coastal region of Elgin where the winery produces its Sutherland line of wines.
