Platters Awards  4*  Veritas Silver

The Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon is a true treat for anyone who loves this variety! Displaying a bright deep plum colour with a ruby red edge, this wine overflows with a melange of aromas: dark cherry, ripe plum and cassis, high notes of red berries, mint and nettles; all with an underlying smokey aroma. The palate shows further cassis and dark cherry with a savoury undertone. The finish tends to linger with soft tannins and a hint of sweet oak.

Food Pairing

The Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful companion to hearty meat dishes such as veal with bacon and green beans. Mature cheese platters and baguette will also be even more delicious with this red bottle.

The Estate
Several farms in the popular South African viniculture regions Stellenbosch, Elgin and Hemel-en-Aarde Valley belong to the winery Tokara. Through multiple locations, the winery succeeds in providing the perfect conditions for each and every grape variety. State-of-the-art cellar techniques in interplay with lots of experience create true premium wines such as the Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon year after year. Tokara Wine Estate is nestled among the Stellenbosch wine farms and the estate offers a variety of elements such as delicious olive oil, wine, brandy, a magnificent art gallery, the delicatessen for day-time eats, and one of the best restaurants in Stellenbosch boasting one of South Africa’s best chefs.

Ageing
The Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon matured in partly new French barriques for 18 months. This way it gained a high ageing potential and should therefore spend some years in the cellar in order to develop its full character. Yet it is also absolutely wonderful when opened right away.
