This wine from Thelema Mountain Vineyards is one of our most popular Sauvignon Blancs and well worth buying. Unwooded and well-balanced, with fresh melon and grapefruit flavours, and a full palate and zesty finish. A typical Thelema Sauvignon Blanc – lovely fresh melon and grapefruit flavours, with a full, zesty palate, all in perfect balance.
Food Pairing
As an apertif or with delicately flavoured foods like salads, oysters, scallops and chicken. Drinking well now, and will develop well for 3 years.
The Estate
After falling in love with the wines of Puligny-Montrachet, former accountant Gyles Webb packed away his adding machine in Durban and moved the family to Stellenbosch. Converting a dilapidated fruit farm into vineyards, the pioneering producer quickly garnered recognition and accolades for his minimal interference winemaking philosophy and his pure and unmanipulated benchmark bottlings. In 2002, Webb expanded his operation to the cool climate coastal region of Elgin where the winery produces its Sutherland line of wines.
