The Estate
The gentle Atlantic breeze caresses the rolling vineyards at Hermanuspietersfontein wine estate to create truly spectacular nutrient-rich wines. Situated in the mountains near Stanford, this remarkable wine estate is the champion farm of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, having been a member since 2007. Natural fauna such as leopards, duikers, reebok, cerval, and baboons roam free over the 320 hectares of the fynbos-rich Hermanuspietersfontein Boerdery. First named in 1855, the Hermanuspietersfontein farm and winery is under the careful control of the Pretorius family, the winemaker Bartho Eksteen, and Gerrie Heyneke.
