Out of Stock
Vibrant and fresh nose of crushed rocks, ripe pear and passionfruit. Quite energetic on the palate which builds and has more profundity than one may first realize. Walks the tightrope between bracing Elim and Walker Bay freshness and ripe Stellenbosch fruit brilliantly. Finishes on a dry, clean and very classy note.
96% Sauvignon Blanc, 4% Sémillon
Harvest started in the middle of February and continued for two weeks between the Helderberg and Bottelary hills. The grapes harvested from the Walker Bay and Elim blocks took place in the third week of February. Fermentation of the different Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon parcels happened separately after which they were left of the lees for a few months before meticulous blending took place. Bottling took place in June 2019.
The Estate
Living in Kommetjie and sourcing the majority of her fruit from the coastal areas of Elim, Sondagskloof, Swartland and Darling, Trizanne Barnard is never far away from the ocean. She creates remarkably elegant wines of nuance and complexity, and has done so since she worked for Klein Constantia (she made the early Anwilka wines). Trizanne has a reputation of being a Sauvignon specialist. In no small way due to the quality of the wine she bottles under the TSW label. Crisp and fresh, as a good Sauvignon needs to be, but she works with lees to add some mid-palate texture
