The koeksister! This doyenne of the South African tea table has seduced so many with her twisted syrupy goodness. She has stripped people of their willpower and intentions to diet or lose weight. The koeksister is made by deep-frying dough and then dipping it in an ice-cold sugar syrup. A traditional South African donut treat that’s deliciously sweet, sticky, crunchy and drenched in syrup. Absolutely perfect for snack or tea time and even breakfast.
